A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words
Travel Photography
Ever seen a scene on a TV programme or a photograph in a glossy magazine that just stops you in your tracks?
For me, the inspiration can be unlocked by seeing a single photograph. So many people have told me travel is not for them but has later been converted by a single experience. So now's the time to unlock your inner spirit of adventure and chase that dream. Hopefully, my photographic galleries and Blogs will do just that?
As the saying goes,
"A picture speaks a thousand words"
Thanks for looking

April 2023
Having been lucky enough to have photographed Lions, Leopards, and Cheetahs at close quarters, my attention turned to the Bengal Tigers of India. Of course, there is so much more to the Tiger Parks with Pench, Khana, and Bandhavgarh visited over a two-week period. As ever with nature, nothing can be taken for granted but by safari ride number three we had a great siting. Eventually, we would see 20 individuals spread over 23 sightings. Some are fleeting, others as a close encounter. Well worth the 04:30 am alarm calls. Although for the local guides, seeing an Indian Pitta in the fading light caused some excitement.

September 2024
Having been lucky enough to photograph big cats in Africa and Asia, my thoughts now turned to Jaguars in South America. With 15 sightings in three days, I was blown away by the encounters. In other lands, the big cats tend not to be that active, but during the days these actively hunt along the river banks. Add in visits to Rio and the amazing Iguazu Falls and you have a first-class trip that will live with you forever.

August 2025
One of my big passions in later life has been running; you can read about my running story in the Marathon tab, so when they announced that Sydney, Australia, was to be the 7th Marathon major, I just had to come out of five years of running retirement and have a go. I had always seen Australia as a retirement destination, but with just two weeks' holiday to spare, my exploration would be limited. But I'm so glad I went for it. The scenery and sense of open spaces are just something else.

September 2025
Once a year, I try to take a trip to capture one of the world's great wildlife spectacles, with Jaguars and Tigers being target species in the last couple of years. This year, I wanted to see a bear in the wild. For those living in Canada and parts of the US, this may seem a strange choice, but here in the UK, we are, of course, bearless. To meet this aim, I chose Vancouver Island in Canada, which also gave great whale opportunities and wilderness viewing.

Alas I still have lot more places to visit. Hope to add Oceania in the years ahead!
I've lost count of how many times people have described Africa as a place that "gets under your skin". It's hard to describe why, but few come back without the hunger to go back for more.

Europe - The Land of History
Where North America is a land of vast open plains, miles of tundra, and canyons of epic proportions. South America has a backbone of the mighty Andes and still holds onto its vast rain forests and complex ecosystems.
A trip to Asia can be a cultural and sensory overload with the bustling markets and atmospheric temples, not forgetting the majesty of the Himalayan skyline.

The sheer remoteness and sense of a land untouched by the human hand make this a unique destination.
Nowhere else can you follow the power struggle of tribes, empires, and royal families stretching over so many countries as the borders were drawn and redrawn over the last two millennia.

Amercica's - Nature's Wonders
As an avid runner for over a decade with the completion of 18 marathons in 12 different countries and a holder of an Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Finisher medal, the chance to mix travel with a passion has turned out to be a real bonus.
